THINGS THAT I LEARNED AT A HISTORICALLY BLACK UNIVERSITY THAT I WOULD HAVE NEVER LEARNED ANYWHERE ELSE:

The Haitian Revolution was inspired slaves in the United States to fight in the American Civil War. After seeing a small island become the FIRST black republic in the WORLD and conquer France, they believed that it was possible.

The Haitian Revolution also initiated the Louisiana Purchase. Haiti was known as the “Island of Dreams” and the prime gem of the Caribbean. It was France’s ultimate pride and glory. When France lost Haiti, they felt that they lost everything and could care less about their territories in North America.

And I learned this all from a Nigerian professor at the “questionable” Florida A&M University.
